What the Heck Is a Move Manager and Why Do I Need One

Sure, you’ve moved yourself plenty of times. Your first apartment, your first job in a new city, your first house, a larger home to handle your expanding family.

Who hasn’t underestimated what will fit in the car or rental truck? Who hasn’t dragged the last box in at midnight after moving all day? And my favorite, you thought you were fully packed, then remembered the garage. Fond memories.

Now you’re more experienced, wiser and busy with life. It’s time to give your back a rest. It’s time to engage a move manager.

Quite simply, a move manager plans and executes the details of your move. You tell me where you want to go, and my team gets you there. We make your move as stress-free as possible.

Remember life before the smart phone? Can you imagine life without it, now? Probably not on both counts.

A Move Manager is kind of like that.

You give us your vision of what you want for your new home, and we help you get there. With you, we identify what is moving and what is not from your current home and what you may need to acquire to fulfill that vision.

We create a timeline for your move. We design floor plans, we pack you, coordinate the move team, manage move day, unpack you, and haul off the packing material. We disperse what is not moving through donation, consignment and disposal.

Kitchen and baths are unpacked and organized. Beds are made. Clothes are hung in the closet. Books are on the bookshelves. Lamps are plugged in. Electronics are hooked up. Décor is in place, we even hang your art. We do the work so you can enjoy your new home. Depending on the scope of the project, most homes are set up in one to five days. You are not living in boxes for weeks or months.

Do you need a move manager? Do you need your smart phone? Not really, but both make life oh, so much easier.
